The Fargo Hotel located at West State and California Street, Sycamore, IL.was built by Henry Fargo of Geneva, IL. At the time of purchase Mary Whittemore was living in the building and Mr. Fargo agreed that the part of the structure be saved and incorproated in the new structure as Ms. Whittemore's own private suite. After complete renovation in 1983 it was renamed as The Stratford Inn |
