Wood Cut, Pumpkin Festival Collector's Collection, wood block number 124/250 depicting DeKalb County Courthouse with pumpkins in the front and a Welcome to Sycamore Pumpkin Festival sign,1997. Reverse side of the wood block reads "Pumpkins on Display. The biggest attraction of the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival is the Display on the DeKalb County Courthouse lawn. Six to seven tons of golden pumpkins are donated to children of the community. By Festival time they bring their 600 to 700 pumpkin creations to be displayed in the "Pumpkin Patch" and to compete for awards in such categories as: Story Book; Happy and Fancy; Weird, Ugly and Scary; Adults and Family; Groups and Organizations; TV, Nursery Rhymes; Carved; and several others as determined each year by the Festival theme." The Sycamore, Illinois Pumpkin Festival, is a fundraising activity for Sycamore Lions Club and a variety of local schools and service clubs. |
