Block, Printing
Block printing image of DeKalb County Courthouse, Sycamore, Illinois Contractor William McAlpine was paid $143,897.55. The exterior is Bedford limestone quarried in Indiana and shipped by train and delivered to the construction site using a temporary rail spur. The huge blocks were cut on site, some of which weighed four tons.

Box, made of oak containing four drawers.The box was made later and drawers are not the original drawers. The message drawers, made of metal were used in the second DeKalb County Courthouse, 1850-1903. The drawers read "Grand Jury Certificates; Election; Sheriffs Box and Petit Jury Certificates."
